Milatjari was born in 1928 in the bush at Amuroona, a station between Indulkana Community and Mimili on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands in South Australia. She now resides in Mimili with her five children.
Milatjari is an important law and culture woman and passes on her huge knowledge to the younger generation.
Milatjari would accompany her father and mother to Antara, a popular area for the collection of Maku (Witchetty Grubs). Her father would hunt for Kangaroo and goanna while the women collected bush tucker. During the night the family would sleep in a Walytja and build a fire for warmth.
